Entry for the Ebitengine game jam 2024.
The theme is "building" and my interpretation is about making the typical character building a bit more intense.

  • Gameplay 
    • Optimize your offensive statistics by picking the right combinations of items in the right order, at the building phase.
      • 240 items are filling the room, picking one removes 3 random items, and adds 10 curses (negative items) to the remaining ones.
    •  Take the portal and defeat the boss to go to the next stage!
    • The boss' second phase triggers at 50% HP.
    • Since there is not enough content, the game is endless and loops by increasing the boss' HP.

    Mouse sensitivity, and audio can be configured by pressing 'Tab' and going to the top left "Settings" menu.

  • Notes
    • It is supposed to be hard so that you're forced to spend time to build your character in the most powerful way.
    • Be careful about not stacking too many curses, as some can kill you and/or can make the character unplayable.
    • Some AoE damage and projectiles are marked on the ground, so you might have to check your feet for some red markers occasionally.
    • After pressing 'Tab' or escaping the cursor capture, pressing 'Tab'/click again might introduce a delay for the game to be focused again and accept the input.
    • There's only one boss unfortunately, I intended to have 3, but I couldn't make more than one in time. The balance also needs some tweaking, as the game is relatively easy breakable at the moment.
